Recently relocating to the Mid North Coast, Phil Matthews is a Conservatorium trained classical guitarist turning heads up and down the coast with his solo and duo act Pure Acoustic. With 25 years performing across Australia working with artists such as Ian Moss, Pink and many more Phil has formed his own special blend of classical techniques with a modern twist.
Having trained and toured with Tommy himself Phil has developed his own unique finger styling, taking on songs such as Lady Gaga's Poker Face ad Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody in all its glory.
Throughout his musical journey, Phil has written 40 original songs and countless original instrumental arrangements of classic hits. Taking inspiration from musical stylings such as Eric Clapton and song writers like Billy Joel and Freddie Mercury.
Not just a classical guitarist, Phil has a reputation of being a human singing jukebox. His repertoire of classic hits from across the ages is so vast, see if you can stump him.

With 20+ years performing across Australia working with artists such as Tommy Emmanuel, Phil has developed his own unique finger styling, taking on songs such as Lady Gaga's Poker Face and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody in all its glory on one acoustic guitar.
Partnering with multi-talented harp blowing, soul singing, eye catching, box bashing percussionist Elke Rautenberg, the two cover all the favourites classics from across the ages.
They have a reputation of being the ‘singing jukebox’. They like to give their audience’s the music they want and test their knowledge of pop culture along the way. With a repertoire of classic hits from across the ages so vast, they are sure to play your tune!
